In a powerful media appearance, Prof. Ransford Edward Gyampo, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers' Authority, has advised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to fortify its public communication strategies by aggressively defending the party and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking on TV3's KeyPoint program on April 19, 2025, Prof. Gyampo emphasized that it is critical for the NDC to maintain a dominant media presence and actively counter disinformation and "needless noise" from the opposition.

“President Mahama has to stay focused, but whether you like it or not, he’s a human being and sometimes he can be distracted or affected by this needless noise from those who don’t know how to govern a country,” Gyampo declared.

He urged the NDC to mobilize all its communicators, stressing that the time has come to “activate all mouth cameras” — a metaphor for vocal regime defence through every media channel possible.

Prof. Gyampo warned that the opposition's increasing media attacks could mislead the public if left unchallenged. He stated that only a cohesive, vocal, and coordinated communications strategy could safeguard Mahama’s leadership image and the party’s credibility ahead of Ghana’s next general elections.

"Politics is media warfare now," he said. "If you lose the media narrative, you lose the people."

Prof. Gyampo’s comments come at a time when political discourse in Ghana is intensifying. His remarks are seen as a rallying cry to NDC loyalists, urging them to combat misinformation, propaganda, and political spin with strategic, facts-driven counter-narratives.
