In a dramatic breakthrough, police in the Eastern Region have arrested Solomon Siaw Tetteh, the alleged ringleader of a carjacking syndicate operating across the Krobo enclave. The group is infamous for stealing vehicles and converting them into coal pots, causing extensive property loss to car owners.
Tetteh was apprehended on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at a hideout in Nuaso, Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. His arrest follows multiple car thefts reported in Nkurakan, Asesewa, Somanya, and Ada Magazine.
According to reports from Citi Newsroom, the gang’s modus operandi involved dismantling stolen vehicles and reassembling them into metal coal pots—a shocking twist that stunned local residents and victims alike.

Police say investigations are ongoing to locate and apprehend remaining members of the syndicate. Tetteh will be arraigned after the completion of preliminary inquiries.
