A 14-year-old girl from Lambussie in the Upper West Region, Kpetaah Rejoice, is appealing to the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) and the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) to release her pending Mathematics results, which are blocking her admission into her preferred Senior High School.
Rejoice, who dreams of becoming a lawyer, completed her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2025 at Royal Star Community School in Nandom.
She obtained impressive grades in several subjects, including grade 1 in English, Dagare, and Career Technology, and grade 2 in Social Studies, R.M.E., Science 3, French 3, and Creative Arts 4.
However, her Mathematics result has been withheld without explanation.
The CSSPS subsequently placed Rejoice at Wenchi Senior High School, a school she never selected, assigning her an unexplained aggregate of 54.
This development has left her, her mother Agnes Tang, and the management of Royal Star Community School deeply concerned, prompting them to call for urgent intervention from the Ministry of Education.
Attempts to resolve the matter directly with WAEC in the Upper West Region have so far proved unsuccessful.
As the deadline for second-cycle students to report to their respective schools looms on Saturday, October 21, 2025, Rejoice’s educational future remains uncertain.
When contacted about the issue, WAEC expressed surprise over how the 54 aggregate was calculated, noting that the complete results, including Mathematics, have not yet been released.
The examination body further stated that pending results are a recurring issue this year and assured that they would be resolved within the stipulated period.
