On a live Metro TV program, Mr. Kwesi Pratt shared his thoughts on comments made by Acting Chief Justice Justice Baffoe Bonnie concerning a lawyer involved in a theft at the Tema High Court.
During a newspaper review, Justice Baffoe Bonnie highlighted the ethical and professional standards expected of lawyers, citing the incident where a lawyer allegedly stole a colleague’s mobile phone during court proceedings.
Pratt explained that the lawyer not only took the phone but also pretended to help look for it. Further investigations revealed that the lawyer had intended to sell the phone before being caught.
Metro TV reported the story with the headline: “Kwesi Pratt reacts to an interesting newspaper story: A lawyer reportedly steals a phone in court, joins the search for it, and then gets caught trying to sell it.”
Commenting on the incident, Pratt said, “This is the most interesting story I’ve seen today. The Acting Chief Justice was addressing lawyer ethics in Ghana and then something like this occurs. Truly unbelievable.”
