321 Newly Employed Pharmacists Yet to Receive Salaries – Finance Minister Assures Swift Action

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has disclosed that 321 pharmacists employed in the public sector since June 2023 have yet to receive their salaries.

Speaking in Parliament on March 11, 2025, while presenting the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, Dr. Ato Forson revealed that the issue came to his attention during a social media engagement ahead of the budget presentation.

Government to Resolve Salary Delays

Dr. Forson assured the affected pharmacists that the government is taking urgent steps to resolve the issue.

“Mr. Speaker, we also engaged the youth in a dialogue on social media as part of our new budget consultation. During my engagement, it was revealed that 321 pharmacists who were employed since June 2023 have not received salaries. We will take urgent steps to remedy this situation immediately,” he stated.

The Finance Minister also emphasized the importance of youth participation in policy formulation, describing his social media engagement as an eye-opening experience. He noted that such platforms allow policymakers to gain firsthand insights into critical national issues.
