Semenyo, who opened the scoring at the Accra Sports Stadium on Matchday 5, now has three international goals in 21 appearances since his debut in 2022. His goal against Chad marked his first for Ghana since March 2023, when he found the net against Angola.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Lawrence Baidoo for SuperSport, the 24-year-old admitted that while he has had some strong performances, he expects more from himself in a Black Stars jersey.

“I definitely want more goals. Any player in an attacking position wants more goals, but I feel like my performances have been a mix of good and not-so-great games,” Semenyo said.

He acknowledged that his contributions have been inconsistent but remains optimistic about his progress.

“I’m quite humble—I know when I’ve played well and when I haven’t. I haven’t been as decisive as I would like for the national team, but I believe I can do better.”

Semenyo is determined to improve his finishing and overall impact, ensuring that fans and critics alike see his true potential.

“I would say it’s been a steady slope—just very average—but I know I have more to give. I hope people aren’t judging me solely on these 21 games because there’s much more to come.”

With his confidence boosted by his recent goal, Semenyo will be looking to increase his tally when Ghana faces Madagascar on Monday, March 24. A strong performance could further solidify the Black Stars' position at the top of Group I, bringing them closer to securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Can Antoine Semenyo rise to the occasion and become a key goal-scoring threat for Ghana? Fans will be eager to see him deliver in the upcoming fixtures.
