Highlighting the country's robust energy position, Jinapor noted that Ghana is currently exporting approximately 300 megawatts of power to neighboring countries such as Burkina Faso and Benin. This level of export underscores the nation's sufficient energy supply, making domestic load shedding unnecessary.
However, the Minister acknowledged that the energy system remains fragile due to challenges like fuel supply constraints and outstanding payments to power producers. He assured the public that efforts are underway to procure additional fuel and address these financial obligations to maintain a stable power supply.
In a strategic move to bolster energy infrastructure, Jinapor announced that the cabinet has approved the construction of a second gas processing plant. This initiative aims to augment current capacities and enhance supply security, reflecting the government's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
