President Mahama Encourages Black Stars Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifiers

support before their crucial qualifiers

During his address to the players and the technical team, President Mahama acknowledged the team’s recent struggles but expressed his unwavering faith in their ability to turn things around.

“We didn’t qualify for AFCON. But even when we qualified the last time, we crashed out early. However, we haven’t given up on you. We still believe that the Black Stars can reclaim their former glory. That depends on you, the technical team, and the management committee.”

The four-time African champions failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, further deepening concerns about their recent decline in form.

Mahama reminded the players that while the nation fully supports them, their success ultimately depends on their own dedication and effort on the pitch.

“The goals will come from these feet that are right here. It takes sacrifice, it takes strength. We all love to watch you play for your clubs, and we expect you to bring the same dedication to the national team.”

The Black Stars are set to face Chad on March 21, 2025, before taking on Madagascar three days later in Morocco as they fight to keep their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes alive.

The team’s performance in these fixtures will be critical in determining their chances of making it to the World Cup in North America.
