Bullgod seeks GH¢100K from Shatta Wale to cover legal costs following defamation case settlement. |
Three years after a scandal that rocked Ghana’s entertainment scene, artiste manager Bullgod has broken his silence following Shatta Wale’s official apology over defamatory claims made in 2022. The original controversy erupted when Shatta Wale accused Bullgod of playing a role in the murder of Fennec Okyere, the former manager of rapper Kwaw Kese—a claim that was widely condemned and led to a legal suit at the Accra High Court.
Bullgod, stating that the allegations severely harmed his reputation and were “malicious,” sought GH¢1 million in damages. However, after intervention from industry stakeholders, the two parties reached an out-of-court agreement, which required Shatta Wale to issue a public apology and pay GH¢100,000 in legal fees.
Shatta Wale fulfilled the first part on April 30, 2025, when he issued a formal apology in writing. Speaking to JoyNews on May 2, 2025, Bullgod appreciated the gesture but emphasized that the legal fee remains unpaid.
“You will not defame me and expect me to pay my own legal fees,” Bullgod stated. “If we are settling out of court, the decent thing to do is pay the GH¢100,000 to my lawyers.”
He confirmed that his legal team is now actively pursuing the outstanding amount, hinting at possible legal repercussions if the payment isn’t made promptly.
