Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has joined national leaders in welcoming Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang back to Ghana following her medical leave in the United Kingdom.
In a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Bawumia wrote:
“A warm welcome back home to Vice-President Professor @NJOAgyemang. @SBawumia and I thank God for your speedy recovery and wish you all the best as you resume work.”
The Vice President, who was abroad for a doctor-recommended period of rest and medical treatment, was received at the Kotoka International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama, and a delegation of senior officials and family members.

Also present at the Presidential Lounge of Kotoka Airport were Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Vice President's Chief of Staff Alex Segbefia, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, and other senior aides.
Her return is expected to reignite key engagements related to national development, education reform, and governance.
