The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has revealed that NPP parliamentary candidate Nana Akua Afriyie currently leads the Ablekuma North Constituency race by a slim margin of 48 votes, ahead of the critical rerun in 19 polling stations scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2025.
Following a re-collation of authenticated results from the 2024 general elections, Akua Afriyie polled 32,512 votes, narrowly ahead of Ewurabena Aubynn of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who secured 32,464 votes.
The Electoral Commission announced that 6,839 votes are still outstanding, to be contested in the upcoming rerun across 19 polling stations where results were previously unauthenticated due to disputes or irregularities.

“The outstanding polling stations include areas in Darkuman, Kwashieman, Awoshie, and Odorkor,” the EC statement confirmed. “These votes could swing the final results in either direction.”
