Kumawood actor James Owusu Ansah, aka Apaluca is dead

 

Ghanaian actor Lil Win, popularly known as Kwadwo Nkansah, has announced the death of his colleague, Apaluca. 

The actor, whose real name is James Owusu Ansah, reportedly died on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Lil Win shared the news on social media, expressing his grief over the inconvenient timing. 

“Why have you gone at this time? I'm about to release my new music, and you'd have all benefited from it,” he lamented.

The news was also confirmed by Lil Win’s manager, Akwadaa Nyame, on TikTok, saying; “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we, at WezzyEmpire, confirm the passing of our beloved actor and friend, James Owusu Ansah, known as Apaluca.”

Apaluca was renowned for his unique stature, comic flair, and dancing talent. 

He appeared in several of Lil Win’s web series, including Debony, often joining forces with stars like Kwame Ahenfie in the Weezy Empire camp.

Ghanaian sports personality Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Head of Sports at Despite Media and former spokesperson for the GFA Normalisation Committee, paid tribute to the late actor, describing him as a humble soul who brought joy to many.
