" I Wanted To Be A Lawyer, Pilot Or President When I Was A Child" - Shatta Wale Reveals

Shatta Wale has opened up about his childhood dreams, revealing that he once aspired to be a pilot, lawyer, or even the president, professions he believed would allow him to lead and make an impact on society.

Speaking on Primetime on Joy Prime, the outspoken musician shared that from a young age, he noticed how his peers often looked up to him and valued his opinions, something he saw as a sign of his natural leadership abilities.

“I always knew I had influence,” Shatta said. “When I spoke, people listened. I wanted to lead, whether as a president, a lawyer, or a pilot. I felt I was born for it.

He recounted how his fascination with aviation was so strong that he would spend hours playing flight simulation games, building airports, and imagining himself flying planes across the world.

“I loved planes so much I could sit behind the computer for hours, building airports and flying,” he recalled.

But beyond aviation, Shatta Wale also had dreams of becoming a lawyer, citing his strong sense of justice and persuasion.

With law, it’s not too late,” he admitted, “but I don’t think it suits my schedule now.”

Touching on politics, he said it’s something that runs in his blood.

My dad is a politician; he worked with the late JJ Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. So if I wanted to do politics, I could have pursued it,” he added confidently.

The “Melissa” hitmaker also reflected on his academic life, describing himself as a brilliant student who excelled until senior high school.

“I was never in the last ten until SHS. That was my wake-up call, and it never happened again,” he said with a grin.

Shatta credited his father, Shatta Capo, for instilling in him the principles of self-education and discipline.

My father always told me to ‘know thyself and align with your dreams.’ That’s what has guided me to this point.”

Looking back, Shatta Wale admitted that music, though fulfilling, has been a challenging journey.

“I wish I had pursued those dreams sometimes because music has been stressful,” he laughed. “But I always say whatever God plans for you is the best.”
