In his signature fiery tone, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, businessman, politician, and presidential hopeful, has once again taken a strong stance against what he calls “fake pastors,” vowing never to apologise to any of them despite mounting public pressure.
Speaking passionately during a visit to a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) congregation, Agyapong revealed a recent encounter at the airport that reignited the debate over his long-standing criticism of certain clergymen. “Just this morning at the airport, I met a pastor who told me, ‘I like you, but I don’t like you.’ I told him that means I get 50 percent,” Agyapong narrated to the amusement of the congregation. “Then he said, ‘You are nice, but on TV you’re violent because you criticise pastors.’
The outspoken politician went further to claim that some of the very pastors he had exposed for deceiving their congregations had privately visited him to apologise.
Agyapong praised the SDA Church for its consistency and integrity, saying he had monitored their preaching for nearly two decades. “Since 2007, I’ve listened to your messages every Saturday. For 18 years, you have preached the truth. That’s why I am here. I believe in churches that preach the word, not those who use the name of Christ to deceive their members.”
During the event, Agyapong also outlined his vision for Ghana’s economic revival, calling for massive investment in local industries. He said if Ghana focused on industrialisation, the country could employ over one million workers within the next decade. “If you want a true leader who can change the fortunes of this country, it’s only Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” he declared confidently.
The gathering ended on a spiritual note as SDA pastors surrounded Agyapong to pray for divine protection and guidance, likening him to the biblical Joseph who rose from prison to leadership. “Lord, bless your servant Kennedy Agyapong,” prayed one of the ministers. “As you lifted Joseph, lift him. Break every circle of the enemy and give him peace.”
The prayer session concluded with resounding “Amens” from the congregation, as the outspoken lawmaker bowed his head in humility, a rare sight for a man known for his unfiltered boldness.
