Following his legal triumph, Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team embarked on a tour across multiple U.S. states to unwind and reflect on the long legal battle. As part of this tour, Anas paid a visit to Listowell Yesu Bukarson, a U.S.-based Ghanaian journalist, who shared details of their meeting in a Facebook post.

According to Listowell, the team decided to tour various states as a way to relax and celebrate their legal success. The journey took them through New York City, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky, before they finally arrived at Listowell’s home in Columbus, Ohio.

Listowell humorously noted that the trip was partly inspired by Agyapong’s own words in court. During his testimony, Agyapong repeatedly praised the United States, stating, “Indeed, America is great.” Taking a cue from this statement, Anas and his team decided to experience the greatness of America firsthand while taking a much-needed break.

Since the announcement of Anas’ legal victory, social media has been buzzing with varied reactions. Some Ghanaians have celebrated the ruling as a win for press freedom and accountability, while others remain divided on the implications of the case.

Listowell’s Facebook post triggered numerous online discussions, with users debating whether Agyapong’s defamation had damaged Anas’ reputation significantly enough to warrant the $18 million judgment. Some praised the journalist for standing firm against character assassination, while others criticized the case as a form of legal intimidation against outspoken politicians.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian government and Kennedy Agyapong’s legal team have yet to officially respond to the ruling. It remains unclear whether Agyapong will appeal the decision or comply with the court’s order to pay damages.

Anas’ defamation lawsuit stemmed from accusations made by Agyapong after the airing of the BBC documentary "Betraying the Game" in 2018. The documentary exposed widespread corruption in football, a subject Anas had extensively investigated. Agyapong, in response, launched a campaign to discredit Anas, releasing a documentary titled "Who Watches the Watchman", which sought to paint the journalist as corrupt.

This latest ruling, however, vindicates Anas and reinforces the credibility of his investigative work. It also sets a legal precedent for protecting journalists against false accusations and defamation, both in Ghana and internationally.
