Abronye DC calls Kennedy Agyapong dishonourable and greedy, accusing him of hypocrisy in fiery TV interview. |
In a bold and highly-charged interview on Wontumi TV on May 2, 2025, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), delivered a scathing critique of Kennedy Agyapong, the outspoken Assin Central MP and former presidential hopeful.
Abronye accused Agyapong of being "greedy, selfish, and dishonourable", insisting that while Agyapong frequently touts his financial contributions to the party, he conveniently ignores the numerous benefits he has also gained through his affiliation with the NPP.
"We are tired of Kennedy Agyapong," Abronye said. "Every time he has a conflict with someone, he brags about how he helped them—as if he's the only one doing anything for the party."
He referenced several instances, including Kennedy Agyapong’s public fallouts with Naa Torshie, Yaw Adomako Baafi, and the late Chairman Kutin, accusing him of using past support as a weapon in personal vendettas. According to Abronye, Agyapong's clashes with key party figures stem from personal ambitions rather than genuine service to the NPP.

“He insulted Hawa Koomson, calling her a poor teacher, and even claimed President Akufo-Addo didn't know what he was doing until Kennedy intervened. These are not the words of a team player,” Abronye added.
Abronye further alleged that Kennedy Agyapong’s constant repetition of how he “fed every NPP member” paints a false picture of sacrifice while hiding the reality of personal advantages such as political appointments, influence, and contracts.
“If you are looking for someone who is selfish, it is Kennedy Agyapong,” he stressed. “He wants the world to believe he built the party alone, but never talks about what the party has done for him.”
This latest outburst adds to the growing tension between the two NPP stalwarts, a feud that previously erupted during the party’s "Thank You" tour in the Bono Region, where both men exchanged sharp words before party loyalists.
With the 2024 elections now behind them, internal NPP politics appears far from settled, with power dynamics and personal egos clashing in public view. Abronye’s explosive comments suggest deeper fractures within the party's leadership structure as it positions itself for future contests.
