Renowned Ghanaian pastor and prophet, Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has opened up about his profound love for animals — particularly eagles — in a candid interview with journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah. The interview, which has since gone viral online, offered a rare glimpse into the private life of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International founder.

Rev. Owusu-Bempah revealed that he owns ten large eagles, all housed in a custom-built enclosure at his new residence to allow them space to fly freely, mimicking their natural environment.

“Eagles are very hard to come by. They live in the wild, so it’s not common to find them in homes. But I have ten huge eagles,” he proudly shared.

His collection doesn’t stop at eagles. The preacher also keeps parrots, doves, and peacocks, some of which he sourced from the United States and various parts of Africa.

Owusu-Bempah explained that his attraction to the eagle is more than just admiration for the bird’s beauty. He views the eagle as a spiritual symbol of strength, vision, and power — qualities he strives to embody both personally and in his ministry.

However, his journey into exotic animal care hasn't been without setbacks. He recalled the unfortunate death of his first eagle, which he says taught him a critical lesson in animal husbandry.

“The first eagle I had was as big as a turkey. We fed it meat three times a day, but it wasn’t flying, so the food wasn’t digesting well — and it died,” he lamented.

Determined to do better, he sought the help of a veterinarian and conducted extensive research. He learned that eagles in the wild don’t eat daily, and require flight to aid digestion.

“Now, we feed them once every three days and avoid overfeeding, especially when they don’t fly much. That’s what keeps them healthy,” he explained.

The revelation of his animal sanctuary and his thoughtful care practices has sparked admiration among his followers and animal enthusiasts alike, further enhancing his public image as not just a spiritual leader, but a passionate lover of nature.
